How do I get there?

Nearest Airport: Nadi International Airport

Volivoli is 2.5 hours by road from Nadi airport, with various sized vehicles for group transfers, we will advise on the cheapest option dependant on the number of guests travelling with you.

Do I need a visa for this trip?

Visa requirements

Many countries are visa exempt when visiting Fiji as a tourist. Please check with the entry requirements here.

What level of dive training do I need for this trip?

Suitable for all levels of diver. However, in the interest of everyone's safety and your enjoyment, the dive staff will always asses your ability as a diver before taking you to a dive site that may be challenging. They will also let you know what to expect of each site, and any currents you may experience.

Nomadic Scuba's Top Tip: Stick with the dive staff's advice, they know the waters very well and have your interests as their number one priority. Not only that, they know where to find the critters, so even if you are a competent diver it's always worth having local knowledge with you.

What is the climate and weather like?

Volivoli experiences two seasons:

Wet Season - November to April

Typically warmer temperatures up to 31ºC (88ºF) and periods of tropical rain. Cyclones can be experienced in the wet season.

Dry Season - May to November

Cooler air temperatures toward 25ºC (77ºF) and generally a slight breeze. Evening temperatures can drop to 21ºC (71ºF).

MONEY - Can I pay by card/ phone on the trip?

Fiji’s official currency is the Fijian Dollar (FJD).

ATMs are conveniently located at the airport and various points along the route to Volivoli Beach Resort.

The resort operates as a cash-free facility across all outlets, including the Boutique, Day Spa, Bars, and Restaurants. Any purchases will be charged directly to your room account, which can be settled upon departure using cash (USD, FJD, AUD, NZD) or credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX – subject to a 3.5% credit card fee).

Do I need dive and travel insurance?

Absolutely, without a doubt! Comprehensive travel and diving insurance is essential for planning any scuba diving trip. Many operators require proof of both before allowing you to participate in their activities or use their services here's why.

Are there any medical reasons why I cannot dive?

Operators providing dive services will require you to complete an RSTC medical declaration. Should you need to answer ‘YES’ to any of the questions then you will need a doctor to sign as authorizing you to be medically fit to dive. You can find an example of the RSTC medical questionnaire here.

What are the dive conditions like?

Water temperature

July to October - Approximately 26ºC (78ºF)

February to June - 28ºC (82ºF)

Do we need to use dive guides?

During the boat dives there will always be a dive guide in the water, however you don't necessarily need to use a dive guide on the house reefs. In saying that, we would always advise using one so you can have the benefit of their local knowledge when finding the critters you may wish to see. You will need to dive with a buddy if not using a guide.

Can I extend my stay?

Of course! If you wish to stay longer simply let us know and we will arrange the quote for you. Some of our guests like to try a couple of locations within the same trip. If this is of interest to you, get in touch today and we can discuss various bespoke options with you.

The prices listed above are based on two people sharing accommodation and return transfers from Nadi International Airport. At Volivoli, accommodation is priced per room, and transfers are priced per vehicle, not per person. If your group consists of more than two guests, the total cost for accommodation and transfers may be divided among the group, reducing the price per person.
